Community Categories Get Simplified

Based on feedback from our Customer and Partner developers, as well as employees, we are cleaning up the category listing to eliminate confusion about all of the various choices.

The Developer Community offers conversations about OpenText Products as well as our Information Management Services. With this in mind, we are going to reduce the default category listing from a complete laundry list, to a more simple selection of "Products" or "Services".

This simplified listing focuses on the main drivers for your experience;

• Read articles written by OpenText Developers to learn about topics from the team who build the application or service
• Read blogs from our Product Managers and Marketers about the benefits of OpenText Developer; how to get the most out of your subscription or contract to build solutions
• Stay up-to-date with OpenText Developer announcements
• Ask questions to the OpenText Developer team

...and most importantly;

• Collaborate with peer developers leveraging the same products or Information Management services from OpenText.

The category listing isn't going away, it's just going to be one level deeper.

Yes, that is an extra click, but feedback provided indicated that the laundry list was not a useful option.

Your current settings, including notifications and categories you follow, will not be affected.

Personalize your experience

You have the power to change your view, based on what your company has purchased and/or what you are interested in.

Category Following is easy;

OpenText has quite a few offerings for our developer community, so take a moment to personalize your view of the Community.

Follow the product(s) or service that you are interested in, these are called "Categories":

If you also want to receive email notifications on all new posts and replies, click on the settings icon located in the site header, when clicking on the bell. Scroll down to the list of Followed Categories, and make sure that the 'email' check box is checked.
