Update Category using Content Server API

hi all, i tried to update a document category using content server rest api and it works for some documents but not for most of the .zip files. The error thrown is "api error 675086344 error updating the modification date of content server". Does anybody know what could be the issue?

  • what if you use the GUI on the same node and did it there ? is there a difference. Sometimes users change the category definition and forget to change the applied one on category, if you use the GUI on that node it will show you some more debugging clues as in an "upgrade" button will mysteriously appear if you have Edit Attributes. If you can pinpoint this to all zip mimes perhaps there is a pattern but zip or document the CS system does not differentiate it goes by the node subtype

i tried it on the GUI (classic view) and able to update the node.. also im not updating a date but a normal input text on the category but somehow the error message is related to date "Error updating the modification date". yeah, it works on the other document (PDF, DOCX) when i tried to use API to update but on the zip files it failed

i check that the possible response from the Update of Node using rest API only this (see attached image)

    (https://developer.opentext.com/apis/14ba85a7-4693-48d3-8c93-9214c663edd2/d7540c64-7da2-4554-9966-069c56a9341d/a35ce271-5bb7-4bcf-b672-0c8bcf747091#operation/updateNode)

so i not sure where the error comes from..

  • Hard to say without extended logs thread and connect. You could try if it can be done from the SmartUI and turn developer tools, somewhere in there you can see the REST API call similar to what you attempted .If SmaRTUI works then REST API is all working good then you start looking at the message format(most likely you can steal it from that itself)
