Hacknosis: MedTech Winners!

The 2024 Hacknosis: Sustainable MedTech event has come to an end and the breadth of solutions submitted impressed the judges! We added more prizes and chances for teams to show off their solutions.

One of the three challenges was around MedTech Sustainability and our 5 winners were:

Each submission challenged the status quo of information management within today's tech landscape while respecting the environment and standing united for the climate by driving sustainable innovation through technology.

Panacea

Panacea utilized 4 OpenText services (storage, capture, riskguard, core signature) coupled with Google's Gemini to create a healthcare solution that manages patient data, provides advanced data analysis, prescription management and emission tracking. This solution empowers both doctors and patients with improved diagnostic accuracy, enhanced efficiency, personalized treatment plans, enhanced patient safety and improved patient outcomes.

What we loved about this solution was the re-designed thinking around patient records and the us of AI to provide better results that empower doctors to spend more time creating personalized care plans for their patient.

NEAT

NEAT - NextGen app for Effective Analysis of Trash aims to reduce barriers in the waste management sector. The goal of this application was to improve data availability and with defined signals for various stakeholders to enhance visibility along the chain. This solution integrates information management across 4 key features: regulatory ERP compliance, marketplace for trading waste credits and materials, AI powered waste neutrality and home based digital waste collection. By addressing the data challenges and gaps around waste management, this team was able to provide real-time insights to drive informed decision-making and measurable environmental impact.

DECCAAN DNA

DECCAAN DNA created a unique approach addressing healthcare data management by creating a secure and personalized platform to store, manage and access health data and insights. The use of Blockchain and OpenText APIs ensures confidentiality and integrity of patient data while leveraging AI to analyze records to provide tailored recommendations and predictions for the patient. DECCAAN DNA merges genetic information and pre-existing medical conditions and diseases from various databases to provide unique insights into a individuals genetic predispositions and potential hereditary conditions to address each individuals needs.

HealthInspect

HealthInspect is an online application that utilizes cutting-edge skin disease detection coupled with learning models to enhance skin analysis outcomes for patients. This was a great example of how existing datasets can be reimagined and used for AI use cases to provide outcomes that benefit humanity. In addition to the dataset and images collected, the application includes questionnaires the patient can fill out to provide additional context around symptoms they're experiencing so doctors can address concerns efficiently.

CarbonMedChain

Our final submission winner created a solution that tracks carbon emissions from data collection through medical devices or sensors, at the application level through integrations, while utilizing Blockchain to power the platform and generate smart contracts. The results lead to a comprehensive data analytics and management layer that can be drilled into from the dashboard so end users can make informed decisions in real time.
