Error Code: R236 - The PDF file could not be translated - what does this mean?

Hi,

Our Fax2Mail service is not processing fax jobs - they are all sitting in the outbox with the error:

Error Code: R236

Error: The PDF file could not be translated to fax by the system. Please verify your document format.

We are trying to understand what the PDF error is, and how we address it. Does anyone know how to get more information about why the PDF cannot be translated, or where to look in the portal to see why the job is failing with these errors?

  • Thanks! Currently job ID 2737233 is one. We can open the PDF on our side and it looks fine, but we're wondering if something is happening to it in transit. The error doesn't really tell us what is happening. By the way, we're sending this to Fax2Mail through the REST API, so I thought this was the correct forum. To be exact, the API endpoint we are sending to is https://t2api.us.cloudmessaging.opentext.com/mra/v1/outbound/faxes (this is non-prod as we are in the testing phase of a project implementing this service)
