Get document path whit docman

Hi all,

We need to obtain the full path for a document located in a Business Workspace with the docman api, when the document it's inside of a Business Workspace the script only shows the path up to the business workspace and the rest is lost.

¿Anybody have any idea that can help us?

if by docman I assume you are using the CWS(SOAP) wsdl the best one can do is to write a recursive routine to arrive at the top until you hit -1 where you can't get any further. Very inefficient so most of us will do something like

Write a Database function so it will give the breadcrumb. Then from SOAP, you call the DB function via an LR.
Call a WR Object which has a built-in pathing written.

I would advise you to check RESTAPI because that is where OT is spending development $.

Thanks a lot, we can retrieve the path whit a WebReport, but now we need to obtain the ID whit the PATH, but in version 16.x the WR died when it found a Business Workspace.

In 10.5 the path contains :-:, making PATHTOID fail, maybe 16.x have the same issue.

Conocen alguna forma de traer el ID teniendo el path?

BWS and many livelink subtypes like Projects , Discussions have a negative ID concept so perhaps you can work that angle . I usually look at the objects in DTree to see what I need to do WR by XECM group is new I think in 20 or so .what do you mean die ? Every WR executes Oscript apis and it will say successful or otherwise so you should put the error trap to see why something is not working
