Upgrading Content Server 22.3 to 24.x

Hello All,

I want to upgrade OTCS 22.3 to the latest version, 24.x. Is there any step by step guide available or any documentation that can help me to do this? This is the first time I am upgrading OTCS. Need a bit help before I start the activity.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Raj

Just use System Center and follow the upgrade section in the install manual. We do a lot of CS updates and only rarely we encounter problems that are never blocking.
If you have any more specific questions I will be happy to answer them.

@GianfrancoF Thanks a lot for your reply. I am looking into the Best Practices - Applying Update 24.1 to OpenText™ Extended ECM CE 23.4 with System Center ( https://support.opentext.com/csm?sys_kb_id=1173d855473ece10bc1b79e8536d433d&id=kb_article_view&sysparm_rank=1&sysparm_tsqueryId=dcfaaaf197d70a1406b5b5cfe153afd3 ) document. Is this the correct document to go through? And do I need to upgrade it from 22.3 to 23.x and then 23.x to 24.x, or directly from 22.x to 24.x?

  • This is certainly a good starting point, but it is not enough. first of all, the 23.x and 24x versions are similar, while starting with 22.x there are a number of updates to be made in the accessory software as well. For example, Tomcat 9 is no longer supported and must be upgraded to version 10, the java version used in 24.x must also be updated, and if you don't follow the steps correctly you will have problems.
Most of the information you need can be found in the document "OpenText Extended ECM: Upgrade Guide" this is the link for version 24.1, but there is one for each version.
