version 3.2.15 always overwrites my version in birt 2.2.1

This is a pretty simple question I hope. I just upgraded to birt 2.2.1. All of my previous reports have version 3.2.6, for example, the top line in xml source is:

<report xmlns="http://www.eclipse.org/birt/2005/design&quot; version="3.2.6" id="1">

After upgrading to birt 2.2.1, the version always gets overwritten as 3.2.15 whenever I make any change in birt viewer, which causes an incompatibility error message when the report runs.

My question is, is there a way for the version to either not overwrite the version, or is there a place where I can manually set the version to 3.2.6?

I've looked in the forums and preferences pages, but could not find an answer.
