I am brand new to Documentum, but I do have Stellent experience.

I tried to run the Windows installer, and i get a NoClassDefFoundError jave error.

I have java 1.6 in my classpath, do I need to add some other jars, maybe Documentum specific, to my classpath.

And, is it ok to use Oracle XE?

Thanks

Off the top of my head I think that the installer uses a private Java instance to install Content Server (and to run Java Method Server thereafter). Windows XP is not a supported OS to host Content Server (try Windows 2003 Server, RHEL, etc) but Oracle XE should be fine (I've used it previously with Content Server 5.3 on Windows 2003 Server). System requirements are detailed in the release notes for Content Server. You'll find the release notes on the Powerlink/SubscribeNet site.
