File/Folder privileges
Options

Hi, we are in the process of migrating our reports from iHub2 to iHub3 manually.

Is there a way to check the file/folder permissions on the backend(postgresql) or any other way?

I had a look at some tables in postgresql(for example below query and output) but it did not help me as file_privilges are in number format. It is not showing if a file/folder has read or write or any other privilege.

Instead it is displaying some number.

select file_name,file_type,file_privileges from ac_chi_prd1_birt_01.ac_file_or_folder ff, ac_chi_prd1_birt_01.ac_file_privileges fp
where ff.file_iid = fp.file_iid

"IO Designs";"DIRECTORY";21
"Heller Group.rptdesign";"RPTDESIGN";-32705

Hi Sriram4133,

While you could look at designing a query for postgresql (you'll need likely a more complex query than the one presented), you may also find that using our IDAPI provides a better custom solution for your request. The IDAPI can be used to traverse your system and provide details like privileges, etc.

Postgresql query information: http://www.postgresql.org/docs/8.2/static/queries.html

Information regarding IDAPI for iHub2 can be found here: http://developer.actuate.com/be/documentation/ihub2/mc/help/wwhelp/wwhimpl/js/html/wwhelp.htm#href=serverapi/about-USIT.html

Information regarding IDAPI for iHub3 can be found here: http://developer.actuate.com/resources/documentation/ihub31/integration/

Please note: IDAPI is a customization and may take some time to learn and apply. I does provide a greater level of implementation and has been used to great success among other members of the community.

Warning No formatter is installed for the format ipb0 -

Thanks Jeffrey for your quick reply and the information you provided.

I will try to write a more complex postgresql query.
