Grid Column Alignment

With, MBPM v9.0.1.1 the alignment of grid columns leaves something to be desired.  In IE8, the total width of all the columns must be the width of the grid component less 4px otherwise the columns will start to get mis-aligned.  If you leave the total width of columns 'short' to allow for a vertical scroll bar for instance, the columns no longer align with the column headings.  If you fill the width of the grid a vertical scroll bar also causes a horizontal scroll bar (very annoying).

This behaviour does not happen in FireFox and columns align OK.

I know that I can paginate the grid but it is sometimes desirable to scroll a grid to provide a more speedy interface for the user.

  • "leaves something to be desired" is a typical British understatement, IMO. It is awful. Firefox suffers from the expanded form size that v7 and v7 suffered from, so is equally bad.

I've been concentrating on the faults so far - if I went into the cosmetic issues I'd have no time to work....:smileywink:

  • Hi,

We are aware of this issue and intend to address it in the SR2 release...

    Thanks,

    Paul...

  • Excellent!

Any more news on the ETA? I know it is not possible to state certainly, but we've got a couple of important things waiting on SR2 right now.....

  • I've tried this in SR2 and it does appear to be fixed.

  • Is it possible that 9.1.1 (blank installation) accuse again the same problem?? (on i.e.8, i.e. 9 and firefox )

    Thanks

    Andrea

  • I've not noticed it re-appear in IE8 but alignment is not good in 9.1 with FireFox.

  • This issue still exists in 9.1.3.2 and leaving 4px short of grid seems to do that trick.

  • If you look at the supported environment doco for 9.1.3

Section 2.2.9 Web browser, it has the following note....

Note: Metastorm BPM supports Internet Explorer 8.0 and Internet Explorer 9.0 only in compatibility mode.

Changing IE8/9 to compatibility mode seemed to fix this issue, while it's not a great solution, it is what is mentioned as the supported environment.
