Create More Dynamic User Interfaces with Field Anchoring

Isn't it great?  You've just gotten that nice new monitor you have been craving.  Look at that that screen real estate.  You open up your open up your process to do some work and decide to take advantage of it by maximizing your window, but you end up with something that looks like this.

Sound familiar?  Well, not anymore.  Metastorm BPM 9.1 introduces a new "Anchor" property for all form fields.  Using this new property allows you to control the way a form field behaves as the form size is changed.   By changing a field's anchor points, form fields can dynamically re-size or float in relative position to the edge of a form .  So, now, when you maximize, your form might look like this:

By default, our form fields have always been anchored to the top/left side of the form, but now you can have them anchored to the top, bottom, left, right.  Anchor them to the top/right ensure the field is aligned on a form or use bottom/right(left) to create a footer that is aligned to the bottom edge of the form.

Would you like the field to re-size horizontally?  Then anchor the field to both the left and right of the form.  Would you like the field to re-size vertically?  Then anchor the field to both the top and bottom to the form.

This is just one way that Metastorm BPM 9.1 is making it easier to create forms that meet your user communities demanding needs.  Keep watching this space to learn more...

  • We keep getting tidbits of what's coming in 9.1, which is great.

9.1 was originally going to be released in May as I recall.  Is there any update on when 9.1 will/may actually be released?
