Cannot Connect to Server
When I use mke.emotion.com, port 8080 I get a message that PV cannot establish a connection to server. When I enter this as URL in browser it takes me to smart biz workspace. Thoughts?

Hey Ted,
What happens if you ping the server from the Server Details dialog? Can you try opening the CMD prompt and pinging mke.emotion.com from there? When you click Advanced Options (under the Server Details dialog), what do you hav elisted for the Web application name and the webVision Servlet? Are you able to access http://mke.emotion.com:8080/KEServer/webvision from Internet Explorer? If you have another browser can you try using the above URL there?
thanks,
Matt Michael

When I ping I get same message - cannot establish connection. Using the URL -- cannot access that site. As far as your other question - I don't know how to find that out.

Hi Ted,
Try this:
Click Start -> If you're on WinXP click Run, if you're using Win7/Vista in the search bar type CMD and click enter -> In the cmd prompt type in: ping mke.emotion.com ... Can you take a screenshot of the result and post here?
Thanks,
Matt

If that works, then try this:
Start -> Run (or search bar) and type in CMD again, click Enter -> type in: telnet mke.emotion.com 8080 ... can you take a screenshot of that and post here?

It did not recognize telnet as a valid command ....

Can someone just call me and help me work this out?

Perhaps a related issue? I try to sign on to SBW and it does not take the username and password I was given.

Hey Ted,
You can find your PMs by clicking on the mail icon. I've attached an image that shows this.
Rob has sent me your phone, I'll be calling you shortly.
Regards,
Matt

Hi all,
Just a quick update here, this appears to be a network issue that Ted's IT group will be addressing. Essentially they don't allow access to port 8080 (thus why the SBW link works, but the Webvision one does not). We're just waiting on his IT team to make the necessary changes and then Ted can confirm.
Thank you,
Matt Michael

IT has configured a firewall rule. Still not working. Does not accept the user name and password I was given when trying to connect the repositories, etc.

ok, using the internal Ping button, I was able to get back that the server is Available. It appears we have one issue tackled --- but I still cannot connect with the user name and password I have.

Just an update: We've resolved Ted's login issue.
