BPMN 2.0 Support

I was hoping for better BPMN 2.0 support (intermediate events, colloborations, choreographies etc). I have been disappointed that these key modeling elements have been so poorly supported in Provision and continue to receive no support in PV 9.0.

Quite honestly the BPMN 2.0 language that ships with the product cannot be considered as supporting the BPMN 2.0 spec . I love all the Business Architecture modeling aspects of Provision however without strong process modeling support it is hard to consider Provision as a strong BPA platform.

Cheers,

Prakash

  • Prakash,

Thanks for the feedback.  We are actively looking at additional BPMN support.  Our current roadmap has intermediate events being added in the v91 release.  As part of that effort we are investigating the remaining elements in both the descriptive and analytic conformance levels to see when it would make sense to support.

As we progress in our research, I would like to touch base with you in how you plan on using choreographies.  Because they are not part of the descriptive or analytic, they are not currently on our initial plans to support.  I would like to get your input to determine priority.

    Thanks

    Gerard

  • Thanks for youre reply Gerard - We are finding that colloborations and choreographies are extremely useful in modeling knowledge worker processes as the activities in these processes are less straight through and mroe colloborative.

I wil be happy to share our learnings in this area.
