Excluding Contextual Objects from Nested Workflows
I'm trying to exclude, or otherwise hide, the contextual objects from a nested workflow. When the nested flow has more than one context, ProVision provides a dialog allowing the user to choose to show objects from one context, or none at all. But when there is only one context for a nested flow, there seems to be no choice to not include those contextual objects. Is there some way to not include the contextual objects in a nested flow?

The options available are:
The contextual objects can be hidden by selecting them and clicking 'Edit->Hide'.
You can also create a Scenario/Layer with and 'Unrecruit' the contextual objects from the scenario. Scenarios are created by clicking 'Manage' in the recruitment bar displayed at the top of the model. After adding a scenario, click the 'Modify' button in the scenario maintenance dialog and click the 'Hide non-members' option at the bottom of the detail dialog. Then click the 'Recruit' button and 'un-recruit' the contextual objects by clicking on them.
Option 2 provides more flexibility in that you can choose to publish either the default scenario with the contextual objects included, the scenario without the contextual objects or both scenarios.

Thanks for the coaching on the Hide and Unrecruit options. We're opting to Hide contextual objects and it's working well for our purposes. Two questions arise though and both are very important to us.
1) There seems to be no way to hide a contextual Role (Workflow Lane) even after all contextual objects in it have been hidden. We end up with a blank lane that looks like an error in the model. Is there any way at all to hide the empty contextual Workflow Lanes?
2) In a rare event that we would want to Unhide any hidden objects, we haven't found any way to do that. Are we overlooking a control for that somewhere?

Hi Steve,
On your first point, I don't have an answer.
On second point, you can unhide the objects by going to Edit -> Show Hidden, which shows a dialog box with list of hidden objects, where you can select the required hidden objects to be made visible. I am telling this from my experience on Provision 6.1.1.5 version. Hope it is the same in the version you are using.

Anand

Sorry for the delayed response. I think the feature you're looking for with the empty workflow lanes is 'UnRetain'. Right mouse click on the workflow lane icon and select 'UnRetain'. The purpose of the feature is to allow a multiple context model to display an empty contextual lane in order to have the model display consistently. Typically this is used when a contextual lane is positioned above non-contextual lanes and not including it causes the lanes below it to be repositioned when opened in a different context.
