Business Objects in Sub-Processes, slow to fill/populate?
Hi all,
I had a problem a while back where I'd created a sub-process, and the first action of that process fired off an email. The email was using some data previously gathered in the parent process.
What I found was that, unless I put a system stage between the initial action and an action firing the email, the email would contain blanks where it was using pieces of data. (See attached diagram.) It was almost as if Metastorm needed that little bit more time to gather its thoughts and gets its business objects populated before continuing.
Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be an issue with our database? I'm seeing a similar sort of problem crop up again now, but for a cloned folder not a sub-process.
Any thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated.

We have noticed many problems like this. It is not documented anywhere how and when Business Objects are refreshed. Within Processes, as opposed to on forms, it is more problematic.
We NEED this documented. At present all we have is a 'suck it and see' trial and error approach (as you have obviously done), and that is not good enough IMO.

I'm rewriting our largest process in V9 now. Good to know as a couple of our child processes do the same kind of thing. (At least I'll know what to look for ... though I agree it doesn't make any sense.)
