Custom Slice not getting updated for Smart View for Global Search

Content Server Version: 16.2.7

We have created a custom slice and applied it on the Global Search (as a default). It works as expected for Classic View.

However in the smart view the default is not getting updated. Custom slice is available in the dropdown but not pre-selected. We are seeing From here being used.

Any setting or solution for this already ?

    Did you reload the Smart UI page? Settings for the search box at the top of the page are loaded by /api/v2/search/members/info just once:

    Oh, I have noticed that you did see the slice:

    Custom slice is available in the dropdown but not pre-selected.

    If the default slice does not have a tick in the front to mark it as selected, it is a bug. If the "selected" property of the slice in the REST response is "true", the problem is in the UI. You can open a support case about it.
