Alternatives for documentum forms in webtop

We are using several forms kicking workflows in our webtop but I realized documentum forms is no longer supported. We are told WDK is an option. Could you let us know what are the possible options for replacing forms in webtop.If its WDK could you let me know how to start learning about it and work from there to replace the forms

    Are you looking to just capture data or develop printable for form (ie pdf)? If you only want to capture data, then you can extend Documentum object to capture the input data. xforms built into WDK/Webtop was precursor to xCP, but it really didnt provide much value. Once engineering upgraded Process Engine such that it could read data from forms, the form technology became powerful.

    yes we are just looking to capture data via loading a form and once the data is submitted the workflow kicks off which performs a business functionality .We are migrating towards webtop 16.7.8 from 16.4.Interestingly the form loads in 16.4 but when we migrate to 16.7 against content server 16.4 or 21.4 it does not load. We get the below error message as a pop up but nothing is printed on application server logs(liberty).We want to avoid rewriting this form via WDK as webtop is in its last stages of lifecycle and so anything we can tweak to have this form loaded with no extra customization would be in favour of us.

    Did you try clicking on the triangle underneath error message? My guess is that the newer Webtop might use newer xerces XML parser and may not be compatible with older forms code. If you can try to locate the older xerces JAR file and replace it in the newer webtop WAR, but this isnt supported and may break other code that is dependent on newer xerces JAR.
