Custom widget missing documentation

We need to build a customize widget to change the Date format from DD\MM\YYYY to the YYYMMDD and then use the normal full text search to

bring the required result set.

We couldn’t find in the documentation explanation on how to perform the following :

-Use the input argument to manipulate its value on the widget level.

-How to customize the full text search widget (we have seen a list of OOB widgets that can be customized but didn’t see the full text search).
