regarding issue post installation of enterprise-connect 24.1 msi.

Hi Team,

Once client software has been installed (end-users has restarted the PC) using the software deployment tool (deployed the system user's parameters of registry values to auto-update the Manage PLUG-IN of Enterprise-Connect, so that user's do not edit it manually) ..

but user needs to open 'Windows file explorer' at least once before user’s tries to edit a document in Opentext via Web-browser(google chrome etc..).

Otherwise the plug-in is not registering in the enterprise connect, as per below screenshot.

But user's just want to edit the document via web-browser's and user's do not use the windows-file explorer much.

Please advise if there is a solution for the same.

Regards,

Vishnu

  • I would suggest opening a support ticket.

The technical issue here is likely that there are registry keys populated under "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Open Text\OTEdit\Repository" for each plugin (on demand).

It would appear that these are only created when you connect to a plugin for the first time which results in the Edit/Open from Web launch sequence to fail.

One option could be to prepopulate this location in the registry but it could be something that we can improve in product (if my assumptions are correct).

  • Thank you for reply, Brian.

I have connected to the plug-in, however "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Open Text\OTEdit\Repository" entry in the registry is not been created.

However as you have mentioned, its seems like some improvement is needed for the product itself to embed a registry key under "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Open Text\.."

I have created a ticket with the support team and suggested whether this can be a feature request.

    Reagrds,
